Another Victory for the Production «MEN…»
On December 19 of this year, a ceremonial presentation of the prestigious Critics’ Award of the Association of Theatre Critics of Kazakhstan took place at the Gabit Musrepov Kazakh State Academic Theatre for Children and Youth in Almaty. The winners were determined based on the results of the annual monitoring project «Theatres of Kazakhstan – 2025». Sixty theatres from all regions of the country took part in the competition.
The production «MEN…» by the Kostanay Regional Puppet Theatre, directed by N. Sabashvili, won in the category «Puppet Theatre Production of the Year» and was awarded a certificate granting participation in the International Puppet Theatre Festival, which will be held in 2026 in Ankara, Turkey.
This award became the fourth victory for the theatre’s ensemble with the production «MEN…» in the current year. In May, the theatre’s actors took part in the VII International Puppet Theatre Festival «Orteke» in Almaty, where they presented «MEN…» directed by N. Sabashvili to the jury. For precision of performance, a high level of ensemble acting, cohesion, and professionalism, the company received the award for «Best Acting Ensemble.» In September, the theatre troupe successfully performed at two international festivals and received high recognition from professional juries. At the I International Puppet Theatre Festival «NOMAD PUPPET» in Aktau, the production was honored with a Special Prize of the Akim of the Mangystau Region, while at the VII International Puppet Theatre Festival «Assalaumagaleikum-VII» in Aktobe it won the Grand Prix in the category «Best Production.»
